PRESSURE INTEGRITY COMBATIVES™
EMBODIED PERSONAL SAFETY & PRESSURE-RESPONSE TRAINING
Live practical training · Foundation: 7 substantive training hours · £495 per participant · specialist pathways and commissioned organisational delivery priced to scope
Pressure Integrity Combatives is structured personal-safety, personal-protection and physical pressure-response training for individuals, professionals and organisations.
It develops practical capability for recognising what is changing, managing position and distance, communicating under pressure, protecting yourself and creating safer options when interpersonal pressure becomes physical.
The objective is not more techniques to remember. It is:
more usable capability when the situation stops cooperating.
THE PROBLEM CHANGES WHEN ANOTHER PERSON STOPS COOPERATING
It is easy to say:
-
keep your distance;
-
set a boundary;
-
stay calm;
-
move away;
-
protect yourself;
-
leave.
It is harder when another person:
-
keeps closing distance;
-
becomes aggressive;
-
blocks movement;
-
pushes;
-
pulls;
-
grabs;
-
disrupts balance;
-
refuses to release;
-
forces a decision before you feel ready.
That is the point at which information alone may no longer be enough.
Personal safety requires the ability to connect:
awareness, judgement and physical capability.
Pressure Integrity Combatives is built for that connection. Its central objective is:
Create and preserve safer options while responding appropriately to what is actually happening.
The goal is not to win a confrontation. It is to improve what becomes possible next.
STRUCTURED TRAINING FOR PERSONAL SAFETY UNDER REAL PRESSURE
Pressure Integrity Combatives is a structured personal-safety, personal-protection and physical pressure-response training system for individuals, professionals and organisations.
The work brings together:
-
awareness;
-
positioning;
-
communication;
-
boundaries;
-
practical physical capability;
-
lawful and proportionate decision-making;
-
progressively demanding practice;
-
contextual application.
Different people face different physical problems. That is why the system does not force everyone through one generic self-defence syllabus.
It begins with a common Foundation and develops into specialist pathways according to:
the capability actually required.
DIFFERENT CONTEXTS, DIFFERENT TRAINING NEEDS
Pressure Integrity Combatives may be relevant to:
Individuals
Adults seeking:
-
structured personal-safety training;
-
greater confidence in dealing with physical pressure;
-
deeper civilian personal protection;
-
training that goes beyond scripted techniques.
Professionals
Workers who may encounter:
-
aggression;
-
unwanted physical contact;
-
pushing;
-
pulling;
-
grabbing;
-
obstruction;
-
attempts to prevent movement;
-
difficult workplace interactions.
Organisations
Employers seeking training that connects:
-
credible workplace risk;
-
communication;
-
positioning;
-
personal safety;
-
breakaway;
-
staff role;
-
organisational responsibility;
-
available support.
Authorised Intervention Roles
Organisations whose workers may, in defined circumstances, legitimately need to:
physically restrict another person's movement.
The right pathway depends on:
the problem the person may actually need to solve
rather than simply:
their job title.
BETTER OPTIONS, NOT MORE TECHNIQUES
Pressure Integrity Combatives is:
risk-led rather than technique-led.
The training starts with questions such as:
-
What is actually happening?
-
What could have prevented the problem getting this far?
-
What position gives you better options?
-
Can communication still change the situation?
-
Is physical action genuinely required?
-
What physical capability fits the problem?
-
When should action stop?
-
What safer option becomes available next?
Several principles govern the work.
Prevention Before Unnecessary Intervention
Earlier recognition, better position and clear boundaries may remove the need for physical action.
Context Before Action
Knowing a physical response does not mean it should automatically be used.
Capability Before Choreography
The purpose is useful function, not perfect imitation.
Pressure Follows Capability
Training becomes harder progressively rather than turning immediately into chaos.
Stopping Is Part of Competence
When the problem changes, the response should change.
Safer Options Are the Endpoint
Physical capability should create:
-
movement;
-
distance;
-
escape;
-
support;
-
protection;
-
an appropriately governed next action.
Not simply:
a finished technique.
DIFFERENT SPECIALIST NEEDS, ONE FOUNDATION
Pressure Integrity Combatives uses a structured pathway so that people develop capability relevant to the problem they actually face.
FOUNDATION
Common Personal-Safety & Pressure-Response Training For: individuals and professionals who need the common personal-safety and pressure-response base. Foundation introduces practical capability in areas such as: recognising changing interpersonal risk; positioning; communication; boundaries; protective movement; lawful decision-making; managing simple physical interference; selected disengagement; transition towards safer options. Duration: seven substantive training hours. Foundation establishes the common base. It is not specialist personal-protection, comprehensive workplace breakaway, restraint or weapon training.
APPLIED — PERSONAL PROTECTION
Deeper Civilian Personal Protection For: individuals requiring capability beyond Foundation for more overt physical-threat problems. The pathway develops deeper responses and may include: immediate protection; defensive striking for protection and escape where justified; more demanding physical disruption; broader disengagement; ground survival and recovery; contextual civilian personal-protection decisions. The purpose remains: protect, disengage and reach safety. This remains civilian personal-protection training. It is not prolonged fighting or restrictive intervention.
ADVANCED PERSONAL PROTECTION
Higher-Consequence Civilian Personal Protection For: individuals requiring deeper specialist capability for more complex and serious civilian personal-safety problems. The pathway includes development for: advanced protective movement; positional disadvantage; advanced disengagement; advanced ground-survival problems; Knife Safety Awareness; Knife-Assault Survival. No unarmed training makes a knife assault: safe; predictable; guaranteed to resolve successfully. The objective remains: survival and escape, not weapon-fighting mastery. Advanced Personal Protection remains a civilian personal-protection pathway. It does not become occupational restrictive intervention.
APPLIED — PROFESSIONAL
Workplace Aggression, Breakaway & Role-Specific Personal Safety For: occupational environments where workers may experience aggression or unwanted physical contact but are principally required to protect themselves, disengage and regain movement. Relevant problems may include: aggression; unwanted contact; pulling; pushing; grabbing; maintained attachment; obstruction; role-specific physical safety problems. The emphasis is: protection, breakaway, disengagement and regaining freedom of movement within the professional role. Professional does not automatically mean: restraint. Transient protective contact and disengagement are different from deliberately restricting another person's movement.
INTERVENTION
Governed Restrictive Intervention Where Legitimately Required For: authorised occupational roles in which workers may genuinely need to restrict another person's movement. The pathway may address situations in which workers are legitimately required to: restrict another person's movement; physically hold or stabilise; support controlled movement; manage a justified restrictive intervention. Intervention is not: advanced self-defence; punishment; fighting training; restraint added merely because aggression exists. The distinction matters: Professional teaches protection and disengagement. Intervention addresses governed physical restriction where legitimately required. Training capability does not itself create the legal, professional or organisational authority to intervene.
PRACTICAL CAPABILITY THAT CONNECTS JUDGEMENT & ACTION
Depending on the pathway, participants develop greater ability to:
Recognise Earlier
Notice changes in behaviour, distance, environment and physical contact before options narrow further.
Position More Effectively
Use movement, space, exits, barriers and available support to improve the situation.
Communicate While Remaining Physically Available
Establish boundaries without becoming unnecessarily static.
Protect, Recover and Disengage
Respond to relevant physical interference while working towards mobility and safety.
Make Proportionate Decisions
Connect physical capability to what the situation actually requires.
Adapt When Circumstances Change
Respond to what is actually happening rather than depending on one memorised response.
Use the Option Created
Move, leave, obtain support or transition appropriately instead of remaining unnecessarily engaged.
These capabilities are developed progressively and applied in context rather than taught as isolated techniques.
REALISTIC DOES NOT MEAN CHAOTIC
Physical capability has limited value if it only works when:
-
the partner cooperates;
-
the timing is known;
-
the response has been announced;
-
nothing unexpected changes.
Pressure Integrity Combatives therefore develops capability progressively. Training begins in controlled conditions and becomes progressively more variable, less predictable and less cooperative as capability develops.
Timing, physical resistance, environmental demand and decision-making can be increased without turning training into uncontrolled fighting.
The governing principle is:
Pressure follows capability.
Training is not made more realistic simply by making it:
-
harder;
-
louder;
-
faster;
-
more exhausting;
-
more aggressive.
The purpose is to increase challenge while preserving:
-
safety;
-
learning;
-
appropriate decision-making;
-
the boundaries of the training problem.
Contextual Scenarios
Where appropriate, controlled scenarios require participants to interpret what is happening, choose an appropriate response, adapt when circumstances change and recognise when physical action is unnecessary or should stop.
A scenario may end because a participant:
-
positions effectively;
-
communicates successfully;
-
leaves;
-
obtains support;
-
prevents unnecessary escalation.
A scenario that ends through positioning, communication, leaving or obtaining support may demonstrate stronger judgement than one that becomes physical.
TRAINING SHOULD FOLLOW THE CREDIBLE PROBLEM
Organisations should not begin with:
Which techniques should staff learn?
The better starting questions are:
-
What actually happens?
-
Who is exposed?
-
What are workers expected to do?
-
What are they authorised to do?
-
What support already exists?
-
What environment are they working in?
-
What physical capability is genuinely missing?
Before organisational delivery, the relevant context is reviewed so that training can reflect:
-
role;
-
environment;
-
credible incidents;
-
available support;
-
organisational expectations;
-
professional boundaries.
Training should complement — not replace — appropriate:
-
staffing;
-
supervision;
-
safeguarding;
-
security;
-
workplace design;
-
policy;
-
operational controls.
Training is one control within a wider system.
STRUCTURED DELIVERY, RELEVANT CONTEXT & CLEAR BOUNDARIES
Depending on the agreed pathway and scope, an organisational engagement may include:
Context Review
Clarification of:
-
participant role;
-
credible interpersonal risk;
-
environment;
-
support arrangements;
-
relevant organisational boundaries.
Defined Training Route
Identification of the Pressure Integrity Combatives pathway appropriate to the requirement.
Live Practical Training
Structured development of relevant:
-
recognition;
-
communication;
-
positioning;
-
personal-safety;
-
physical capability.
Contextual Application
Use of relevant workplace situations and environmental features where appropriate.
Progressive Challenge
Training demand is increased according to participant capability and the agreed scope.
Decision-Making
Participants are expected to consider:
-
whether physical action is needed;
-
what response is proportionate;
-
when to disengage;
-
when to stop.
Structured Review
Where appropriate, relevant training observations and future recommendations may be discussed with the commissioning organisation.
The final delivery is defined in advance so the organisation understands the agreed training scope, context and boundaries.
THE TRAINING FORMAT FOLLOWS THE CAPABILITY REQUIRED
Pressure Integrity Combatives is designed primarily as:
live practical training.
Delivery may take place at:
-
a suitable client venue;
-
an agreed training venue;
-
another appropriate professional location.
Physical training requires:
a suitable controlled environment.
Duration
Foundation currently provides:
seven substantive training hours.
Specialist pathways require additional training according to:
-
pathway;
-
physical capability required;
-
participant group;
-
organisational context;
-
specialist content.
Pressure Integrity Combatives does not reduce specialist physical capability merely to fit a convenient commercial time block. The appropriate duration for specialist and commissioned organisational training is confirmed once the training need is understood.
Investment
Foundation
A standard Foundation place is:
£495 per participant
for seven substantive training hours.
Specialist Pathways
Applied — Personal Protection, Advanced Personal Protection, Applied — Professional and Intervention are priced according to the agreed training scope.
Commissioned Organisational Delivery
Commissioned organisational training, including Foundation delivered specifically for an organisation, is quoted according to the agreed delivery requirement rather than calculated simply by multiplying the individual participant price.
Relevant factors may include:
-
pathway;
-
participant numbers;
-
delivery location;
-
required trainer provision;
-
specialist content;
-
organisational preparation;
-
contextual adaptation;
-
venue;
-
travel or accommodation where relevant.
Your proposal will state clearly:
-
agreed scope;
-
delivery format;
-
duration;
-
investment;
-
any material additional costs if applicable.
PRACTICAL CAPABILITY WITHOUT FALSE CERTAINTY
Clear boundaries are part of credible personal-safety training.
Controlled Practice
Physical training is:
-
controlled;
-
progressive;
-
bounded;
-
subject to participant stop authority;
-
adapted where necessary.
Participants are expected to:
-
respect training partners;
-
stay within the agreed exercise;
-
avoid competitive escalation;
-
communicate relevant discomfort or limitation;
-
stop when required.
Difficulty can provide useful learning. Uncontrolled competition does not.
Training Does Not Create Authority
Completion of training does not itself create:
-
legal authority;
-
professional authority;
-
organisational permission;
-
a duty to intervene;
-
unrestricted permission to use physical force.
This is especially important in occupational training. Someone may be physically capable of an action their role:
does not authorise.
No Responsible Training Can Guarantee an Outcome
Pressure Integrity Combatives does not claim that training:
-
guarantees safety;
-
eliminates risk;
-
guarantees performance under pressure;
-
makes size or strength irrelevant;
-
guarantees that a physical response will work;
-
makes knife assault predictable;
-
guarantees escape;
-
guarantees restraint or control.
Pressure Integrity Combatives develops judgement, practical capability and more usable options. It does not manufacture certainty about an uncertain event.
PRESSURE INTEGRITY COMBATIVES™ MAY BE RELEVANT IF...
You are seeking personal training and want:
-
a structured personal-safety foundation;
-
deeper civilian personal protection;
-
practical physical capability;
-
progressive resistance and contextual practice;
-
judgement rather than technique collection alone.
You represent an organisation and need:
-
workplace personal-safety training;
-
physical-aggression awareness;
-
breakaway and disengagement;
-
role-specific safety capability;
-
contextual training linked to credible organisational risk.
Your staff may need to physically restrict people. That requirement should be considered specifically under:
Intervention
rather than adding restraint methods to ordinary personal-safety training.
It may not be the right service if your principal need is:
-
competitive martial arts;
-
combat sport;
-
general fitness;
-
military tactical training;
-
law-enforcement tactical training;
-
armed security tactics;
-
firearms training;
-
unrestricted fighting;
-
clinical or psychological treatment;
-
a generic compliance course disconnected from a credible capability need.
The objective is:
the right training for the real problem
not:
the most dramatic training available.
TRAIN THE CAPABILITY THE PROBLEM ACTUALLY REQUIRES
More techniques do not automatically create better personal safety. More physical force does not automatically create better professional safety. And restrictive intervention should not be taught simply because aggression exists.
Pressure Integrity Combatives™ starts with a more useful question:
What problem actually needs to be solved?
Then the training follows the answer. Whether you are looking for:
-
personal-safety training;
-
deeper civilian personal protection;
-
workplace breakaway and disengagement;
-
role-specific physical safety;
-
governed restrictive intervention;
the next step is to establish:
the right capability, for the right context, at the right level.
I also welcome enquiries from churches, Christian ministries, charities and not-for-profit organisations serving Christians, the Church and the wider Kingdom. Where the need and circumstances are appropriate, I am open to considering pro bono or reduced-fee work alongside standard commissioned training.
For individual or organisational enquiries, provide a brief description of the training need, likely participant group and context.
QUESTIONS ABOUT PRESSURE INTEGRITY COMBATIVES™
"What is Pressure Integrity Combatives?"
Pressure Integrity Combatives is structured personal-safety, personal-protection and physical pressure-response training for individuals, professionals and organisations. It combines awareness, positioning, communication, judgement, practical physical capability, progressive pressure and contextual application.
"Is it a self-defence course?"
It includes self-protection and personal-protection capability, but it is broader than a conventional technique-led self-defence course. The emphasis is not simply: what technique do I use? It is also: what is happening, what options remain, what response is appropriate, and what does that response allow me to do next?
"Is it suitable for beginners?"
Foundation is designed as the common accessible starting point. Specialist pathways involve progressively greater physical and decision-making demands.
"Does everyone begin with Foundation?"
Foundation is the common training base. The appropriate route is confirmed according to the individual or organisational requirement.
"Does the training include striking?"
Foundation does not include substantive striking. Applied — Personal Protection includes selected defensive striking for protection and escape where appropriate and justified. Occupational Professional training does not automatically include civilian striking content.
"Does it include ground fighting?"
No. Personal Protection may include ground survival and recovery — where appropriate. The purpose is to protect, recover useful position, regain movement, stand where possible and reach safety. It is not a sport-grappling curriculum.
"Does it include knife defence?"
Advanced Personal Protection includes Knife Safety Awareness and Knife-Assault Survival. The language is deliberate. No unarmed method makes knife assault safe or guarantees a successful disarm. Avoidance and escape remain priorities wherever realistically available.
"Does workplace training include restraint?"
Not automatically. Applied — Professional principally develops: protection, breakaway and disengagement. Where workers have a legitimate and governed requirement to restrict another person's movement, that requirement belongs under: Intervention.
"What is the difference between Professional and Intervention?"
Professional primarily asks: how do I remain safer and regain freedom of movement within my role? Intervention addresses: how authorised personnel manage justified physical restriction where that restriction is genuinely required. They solve different problems.
"Can the training be adapted to our workplace?"
Yes, where contextual adaptation is genuinely required. Relevant examples, environment, language, role requirements, organisational support and scenarios may be adapted while preserving the safety and scope appropriate to the pathway.
"Do you work with churches, Christian ministries and charities?"
Yes. I welcome enquiries from churches, Christian ministries, charities and not-for-profit organisations where Pressure Integrity Combatives is relevant to the people and risks involved. I am also open to considering pro bono or reduced-fee work where the purpose serves Christians, the Church or the wider Kingdom and the circumstances make that appropriate.
"How realistic is the training?"
Challenge develops progressively. Pressure is increased after capability begins to develop. The objective is controlled, meaningful application rather than uncontrolled fighting or competitive escalation.
"How long does training take?"
Foundation provides: seven substantive training hours. Specialist pathway duration depends on the capability and scope required. Commissioned organisational delivery is structured according to the relevant pathway, participant group and training requirement.
"How much does it cost?"
A standard Pressure Integrity Combatives™ Foundation place costs £495 per participant and provides seven substantive training hours. Applied — Personal Protection, Advanced Personal Protection, Applied — Professional and Intervention are priced according to the capability and delivery scope required. Commissioned organisational delivery, including organisation-specific Foundation training, is also quoted according to scope. The final investment may depend on factors including participant numbers, location, specialist content, organisational requirements, contextual preparation and trainer provision. A clear scope, duration and agreed fee are provided before delivery.
"How does Pressure Integrity Combatives™ relate to TRUTH Code™?"
They are distinct services. TRUTH Code™ is: specialist leadership resilience coaching and embodied formation. Pressure Integrity Combatives™ is: personal-safety, personal-protection and physical pressure-response training. Selected principles or practices may inform appropriate embodied work elsewhere without making TRUTH Code™ a combatives programme.
